Immerse yourself in the rugged beauty of Shelby Farms Park this winter as you tackle the Cobra Den Winter Trail Series, an exhilarating four-race challenge designed to test your endurance and resilience on some of Memphis' most scenic trails. The series spans from December through February, offering both a short and long option for runners looking to push their limits. The journey begins with the Forest Half Marathon & 7 Miler on December 12th at Wolf River Trails, setting an ambitious tone early in the season as you navigate winding paths through dense forest landscapes. The Monocled 5 & 10 Miler follows on January 23rd, shifting to the Tour de Wolf Trails for a mix of challenging terrain and breathtaking views. February brings two more races: the Arabian 4 & 8 Miler at Wolf River Trails on February 13th, followed by the Anchieta 5K & 10K back at Tour de Wolf Trails on February 27th. Each race offers a unique experience with varying distances and trail conditions. The series is meticulously crafted to gradually build from longer, more grueling routes in cooler weather to faster-paced races as winter progresses, ensuring that runners stay engaged throughout the season. Participants can earn points across all events, competing for coveted overall series championship titles. Race day at 8:00 AM promises a vibrant atmosphere with fellow trail enthusiasts and supportive volunteers ready to cheer you on. All participants will receive a stylish short-sleeve tri-blend race shirt (while supplies last), designed for both running comfort and everyday wear. Age group awards are presented at each event, celebrating achievements in various divisions from 0-9 years old up through age 70+. Overall male and female winners also take home special recognition. Safety is paramount, with the organizing team closely monitoring weather conditions to ensure a secure race environment for everyone involved. Should severe weather or hazardous trail conditions arise, the series will adapt accordingly, aiming to reschedule whenever feasible while prioritizing participant safety above all else.
