About the Event

Experience the 33rd edition of this historic gravel race, celebrated as the oldest continuously running event in the Midwest. This year, the organizers have opted for an old-school approach with a shotgun start and just one route: the challenging 40-mile journey through Iowa's picturesque driftless region.
The course promises breathtaking views that will captivate runners from mile one to the last stretch. Expect approximately 1,000 feet of elevation gain every ten miles, but you'll be too busy admiring the countryside to notice. The route details will be released before race day; while there may be some markings along the way, relying solely on them isn't advisable. A key aid station awaits around mile 20, but remember that outside assistance is prohibited. This checkpoint serves as both an aid and mandatory check point, ensuring all participants stay on track. Registration and bib pickup times are yet to be announced.
What makes this year special? The answer lies in the surprises awaiting you come race day. And yes, there will be music and a celebratory awards ceremony to cap off your efforts!
Ensure you bring along essential gear: helmets are mandatory for safety. Follow the rules—no support vehicles or outside help allowed; only volunteers and racers have access to aid stations.
