Please join us on October 24th to run, jog, or walk two miles at Fuji Park while being showered with colorful non-toxic powder along the way to be transformed into a walking rainbow canvas. Sounds like a blast, right?! Do we even need to tell you why you should participate? Well, in case the event itself doesn't already have you sold, here is our story.
Students on Carson High School's Speech and Debate team work hard all year to hone their skills and compete for the honor of representing Carson City at the National Speech and Debate Tournament in June, but the intellectual work is only half the battle! Students need help to pay for their entry fees throughout the regular season, as well as travel costs if they qualify for Nationals. Register by October 3rd to reserve a specific size of white shirt for the race. If you miss the deadline, no worries! Just register and bring your own white attire to be transformed. Either way, you can wear your colored shirt with pride, knowing you've supported one of the largest academic extra curricular activities in the country! We can't wait to see you on race day.
Here are all the deets!
Park along the street on Old Clear Creek Road or in the dirt lot near the dog park, towards Vista Grande Boulevard.
Meet at the check-in table on the west side, near the playground. There will be signs, don't worry.
Registration/Check In: 10:00 am (if you register before October 3rd, come to pick up your custom shirt. If you register later, any extra shirts will be distributed on a first-come first-serve basis until we run out.)
Race starts: 10:30 am
Wear comfortable shoes and clothes that can receive a rainbow glow-up. Please do not bring any extra color or celebratory items.
Water and light snacks will be available after the race in the pavillion on the east side of the park.

Learn more about the host city, Carson City.
Carson City is an independent city and the capital of the U.S. state of Nevada. As of the 2020 census, the population was 58,639, making it the 6th most populous city in the state. The majority of the city's population lives in Eagle Valley, on the eastern edge of the Carson Range, a branch of the Sierra Nevada, about 30 miles (50 km) south of Reno. The city is named after the mountain man Kit Carson (1809–1868). The town began as a stopover for California-bound immigrants, but developed into a city with the Comstock Lode, a silver strike in the mountains to the northeast. The city has served as Nevada's capital since 1861, when it was still a territory. For much of its history, it was a hub for the Virginia and Truckee Railroad, although the tracks were removed in 1950.
