About the Event

Get ready for the 26th Annual Cooperstown Halloween 5K & 10K, set to take place on Sunday, October 25, 2026. This festive race offers runners and walkers an engaging course through the picturesque Village of Cooperstown. Participants can choose between a scenic 5K loop or double the distance with the challenging 10K option.
The event begins at The Clark Sports Center located at 124 County Highway 52, where registration opens on October 8 for those seeking to secure an official race shirt as part of their early entry. Early registrants can enjoy a discounted rate until October 20, with the final day-of entries available up to race start.
The course itself is designed to showcase Cooperstown's charming streets and historic sites while providing a mix of flat terrain and a gentle hill near the finish line for added excitement. Both races begin and conclude at The Clark Sports Center, ensuring participants have easy access to water stations mid-course and at the finish line.
Adding to the fun are costume contests for both youth and adults, where runners can compete in categories such as scariest, funniest, best group, and overall favorite. These creative costumes add a unique twist to this autumn tradition, making it an event not just for competitive athletes but also families looking for a festive morning out.
Registration is available online or at The Clark Sports Center, with race-day registration starting at 8:30 AM on the day of the event. Bib pickup begins at the same time for those who have pre-registered and must be completed by 9:15 AM to ensure participants are ready for the start line.
Join runners from across New York state as they celebrate Halloween in Cooperstown with this memorable race, promising a spirited community atmosphere and breathtaking scenery along the way. Don't miss out on making new memories at one of Upstate New York's most beloved annual traditions!
