Experience the thrill of the 14th Annual Couch Potato race this November. Set amidst the picturesque landscapes of Brevard, North Carolina, this year’s edition promises an unforgettable run through some of the area's most scenic trails. Start your journey at Black Mountain Trailhead AKA Start/Finish on Friday, November 6, from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM. Register and pick up your race packet here before heading home or staying for a night in Brevard. Saturday morning kicks off with registration opening at 7:00 AM. The last chance to sign up is by 8:30 AM, after which the gates will close until the start of the race. At 8:45 AM sharp, gather at the start line for a final briefing before the gun goes off at exactly 9:00 AM. The course features well-marked paths and stocked aid stations to keep you fueled along your journey. Aid Station #1 will be operational until 11:00 AM (covering approximately Mile 6.5), while Aid Station #2 will close its doors by 1:00 PM at around Mile 17. Post-race festivities include a hearty meal starting from 11:30 AM, and awards ceremonies to celebrate the top performers in various categories. Enjoy post-run refreshments, including local brews from Hi-Wire Brewing, as you mingle with fellow runners. Participants will receive a new event shirt for this year’s race, along with chip timing services ensuring accurate tracking of your performance. Police escorts ensure safety throughout the course, making it both challenging and secure. The race insurance offered at registration is highly recommended to protect against unforeseen circumstances such as injury or mechanical issues during the run. Important notes: No transfers or deferrals are permitted under any circumstances unless a waitlist participant takes over your spot if the event sells out. Refunds will be available until July 31, 2026, for 75% of the entry fee and from August 1 to September 30, 2026, for 50%. No refunds are given after this date.
