Runners of all levels are invited to participate in the 2026 edition of Courir à Ydes, an exciting race series featuring three road distances: 5 kilometers, 10 kilometers (supporting Cantal's championship), and a half marathon.
The event kicks off early with the semi-marathon starting at 9:45 AM from the socio-cultural center in Ydes, followed by both the 5-kilometer and 10-kilometer races beginning at 10:00 AM from the same location.
Participants can expect a scenic route that winds through picturesque landscapes around Ydes. The race day atmosphere is lively with enthusiastic supporters lining the streets to cheer on runners as they push their limits and enjoy the beautiful surroundings.
One of the highlights for many competitors is the legendary countryside buffet, which has become synonymous with Courir à Ydes. This event offers a unique post-race experience where participants can relax and socialize while enjoying local cuisine in an idyllic setting.
For those running the 5-kilometer race, please note that it does not loop back to the starting point, so runners will need to arrange their return either by foot for a cool-down run, carpooling with fellow competitors or utilizing one of the volunteer vehicles provided at the finish line.
