The annual children's race, "Tours d'Eglise," invites young runners to explore the charming streets of their town with two distinct distances depending on the year: for 2019 through 2021, participants complete a single lap around the historic church at 9:00 AM. For earlier editions in 2017 and 2018, children raced twice around this picturesque landmark starting at 9:10 AM.
Registration for both events takes place on-site near the town hall, where entry fees of €3 allow participants to collect their race numbers before setting off on an adventure through familiar yet exciting routes.
The "Grand Chemin" course offers a slightly longer challenge tailored specifically for different age groups within primary and early secondary school categories. For children born in 2015 or 2016, the distance is set at 1500 meters; those from 2013 to 2014 face 1700 meters, while kids aged 2011-2012 tackle a more substantial 1900-meter course. All age groups start simultaneously at 9:30 AM from the designated "Grand Chemin" location on the road leading to Ravenoville.
The adult race, known as the "Utah Beach," presents a scenic and historic run along the coastal path of Utah Beach, an area rich in World War II history. Participants cover a distance of 5900 meters beginning at precisely 10:00 AM. Race numbers for this event can be picked up near the museum dedicated to Utah Beach starting from 8:30 AM.
Each race provides not only physical challenge but also an opportunity to engage with local culture and history, making these events memorable experiences for all participants.
