The Cowboy 200 is an epic ultramarathon stretching over 200 miles from Norfolk to Valentine, Nebraska, along the historic Cowboy Trail. Set against the backdrop of America’s heartland on September 24, 2027, this point-to-point race offers a unique blend of scenic beauty and challenging terrain. The crushed limestone trail is virtually non-technical with minimal elevation gain, making it ideal for both first-time ultramarathoners and seasoned runners aiming to set personal records. The route winds through quaint Midwestern towns rich in railroad history, featuring ancient relics like water-powered gristmills and towering railway bridges that add a layer of historical charm. Runners will traverse over 200 picturesque bridges during their journey, the largest spanning a quarter mile with breathtaking views from its 148-foot height. With full aid stations approximately every 15 to 20 miles and generous cut-off times extending up to an impressive 84 hours, the Cowboy 200 fosters a supportive community atmosphere. The race aims for at least 100 finishers in this edition, positioning itself as a potential qualifier for Western States Endurance Run if successful. Participants will enjoy professional photography by Brooke Kaczor and be part of Fox Brush Films' documentary capturing the essence of the Cowboy Trail experience. Upon crossing the finish line at Bolo Beer Co., runners are rewarded with free beer and unique swag, including an exclusive year-specific buckle commemorating their achievement.
