Dart Challenge

The Dart Challenge returns for 2026, offering runners and hikers of all abilities the chance to explore scenic trails on a weekday morning from 9am to 3pm. Participants can choose their own pace and distance within a six-hour timeframe, making it perfect for those with varied schedules or looking to fit in some exercise around work shifts.
The event is hosted by Green Table Cafe, which will provide registration services as well as hot drinks and food throughout the day. A portion of the proceeds from this race goes towards funding a new playground at Dartington Hall, adding an element of community support to your run.
Runners can complete multiple laps on a 5k course featuring a mix of terrain including gravel paths, grassy fields, some tarmac roads, and occasionally muddy stretches. Trail shoes are recommended for optimal comfort and traction during the race.
The format allows participants to compete in as many laps as they wish within the time limit, making it suitable whether you're aiming to complete just one lap or striving towards a marathon distance (8 laps plus an out-and-back section). The event also offers a canicross option for those who want to run alongside their dogs.
Race entry includes professional RFID chip timing, fully marked and marshalled routes, stunning finishers medals, water and feed stations along the course. Additionally, participants will have access to facilities including toilets, free parking, trained medical staff on-site, and catering services provided by Green Table Cafe.
