The AERS Groep Zeeuwse Crosscompetitie, renowned for its challenging and scenic courses throughout the Zeeland region, invites competitive runners from across Europe to participate in this prestigious series. The competition features seven unique cross-country races designed to test endurance and agility on varied terrain. The season kicks off with the Moerschanscross on October 31, 2026, in Hulst, setting a dynamic tone for what will be an exhilarating winter racing calendar. Each race offers distinct landscapes ranging from lush green fields to rugged trails, providing runners with diverse and memorable experiences. Participants can look forward to navigating through mud, sand, and grass as they compete against fellow athletes across various age categories. The competition ensures fair play by merging smaller categories when necessary; for instance, if a specific five-year category has fewer than four participants, it will be combined with the next higher category until there are at least three registered runners. Registration for all seven races is available until October 28, 2026, at 18:00. After this deadline, no further sign-ups are accepted to ensure a smooth and organized event experience for everyone involved. The Moerschanscross in Hulst marks the beginning of an exciting journey through some of Zeeland's most picturesque locations. This series is not just about racing; it’s also a celebration of the rich cultural heritage of Zeeland, offering runners and spectators alike a chance to immerse themselves in local traditions and hospitality. With each race tailored to highlight different aspects of the region, from historical sites to natural beauty spots, this event promises an unforgettable blend of athletic challenge and regional charm. Runners who complete five or more races are eligible for special recognition within the competition series. The AERS Groep Zeeuwse Crosscompetitie is a must-attend event for any serious cross-country runner looking to test their skills against some of Europe's best while enjoying the unique landscapes Zeeland has to offer.
