The Dereham Runners AC 10 Mile Road Race, set to take place on Sunday, August 23rd, 2026, promises an exhilarating run through the picturesque landscapes surrounding Neatherd High School in Dereham. As the final race of the popular Sportlink Grand Prix Series, this event is expected to draw a substantial crowd and will undoubtedly be a highlight for runners across various skill levels. The course, meticulously measured at 10 miles under England Athletics Rules (permit number 30812), offers a challenge that includes rolling hills and flat stretches through Dereham's scenic countryside. Participants should expect an engaging route with varied terrain, ensuring both speed enthusiasts and endurance athletes have ample opportunities to showcase their skills. Registration fees for the race are set at £22.00 for affiliated runners and £24.00 for those without affiliation. The event is open only to individuals aged 17 years or older on race day. Number collection will commence from 07:45am, allowing participants ample time to prepare before the start of the race at 9:30am. Race HQ and both the starting line and finish area are located conveniently within Neatherd High School (Norwich Road, Dereham, Norfolk NR20 3AX). Parking will be available on-site; however, organizers recommend arriving early to secure a spot. Unfortunately, there won't be any bag drop facilities at Race HQ this year. Post-race refreshments such as tea and coffee along with cakes from local bakers will be served by the members of Dereham Runners AC in support of their chosen charity. Toilets are available on-site but no shower facilities will be provided to participants post-event. Official timing is supported, ensuring all runners receive accurate times that can count toward personal bests (PBs). Headphones and bone-conducting headphones are strictly prohibited during the race; any runner found wearing them risks disqualification in accordance with England Athletics rules. Race prizes include medals for all finishers as well as individual trophies for overall male and female winners. Additionally, there will be age group-specific awards from 1st to 75+ years. A £50 bonus is up for grabs by any runner who breaks the existing course records: men's record at 52:22 (set in 2010) or women's record at 59:11 (established in 2022). Medical support will be provided on-site by VTS Medical Event Services, offering essential assistance to any participants who require it.
