Eager Beaver Run

Eager Beaver Run returns to Wilton, Iowa on August 22nd, offering a chance for runners of all ages to enjoy the scenic streets around Downtown Wilton. The race will begin at 8:30 AM under clear skies and comfortable temperatures expected in mid-August.
Participants can expect a well-marked course that winds through the heart of Wilton's historic downtown area. The flat, hard surface provides a smooth run for both serious competitors and casual walkers. As you approach Downtown Wilton on race morning, the vibrant community atmosphere is palpable; local businesses will be adorned with banners celebrating the event.
Eager Beaver Run has been a tradition in Wilton since 2013, having grown from just over 50 participants to more than 400 runners. The event supports the Eager Beaver Scholarship Fund, providing financial assistance for students pursuing higher education at Wilton Community College. This race is not only about running; it's an opportunity to contribute to a community cause that benefits local youth.
The course venue offers a variety of distances, including the main 5K Run/Walk and a special Kids K event designed for young runners aged 14 and under.
Course starts at Downtown Wilton Park. The route includes several notable features such as the historic Main Street and beautiful downtown gardens. There are no significant elevation changes; however, there is one small hill near the halfway point that adds some variety to the run. Aid stations will be available along the course for hydration needs.
