East Coast 10k

Welcome to the East Coast 10k, an annual running event held along the picturesque Great Yarmouth Promenade. This flat and fast course offers runners the opportunity to set personal best times on its traffic-free route, perfect for both seasoned athletes and newcomers alike.
Participants can choose between two registration options: a standard entry that includes a medal or a no-medal option at a discounted price of £1 less than the regular fee. The event is organized by an affiliated club, with prices ranging from £18 to £20 depending on your affiliation status.
Race day begins and ends in Anchor Gardens, just minutes away from Race HQ located at the Marina Centre leisure centre on Marine Parade (NR30 2ER). Runners can enjoy easy access to amenities such as toilets within walking distance of both the start/finish area and race headquarters. The nearby council-owned toilet blocks will also be open for use.
Parking is free along the seafront, with several car parks available if you prefer not to park on the road. Race organizers do not provide a bag drop service but lockers are available at the leisure centre should runners require them.
This November event features a community-focused initiative: a foodbank collection point where participants can donate items to support families in need during the festive period. Last year's efforts resulted in over 600 donated items, making a significant difference for those facing hardships.
A portion of each entry fee goes towards Heart 2 Heart, an organization dedicated to placing public defibrillators and providing CPR training across Norfolk, Suffolk, and beyond. This initiative aims to save lives by ensuring communities are equipped with the necessary tools and knowledge during emergencies.
All finishers will receive a medal along with a race momento as part of their recognition for participating in this event. Awards presentations on race day celebrate not only overall winners but also age category champions and team achievements.
The minimum age requirement is 15 years old, ensuring that young runners have the chance to join in the fun while fostering healthy competition among peers. Although the route is traffic-free, it does cross car parks and utilize shared pathways used by cyclists and pedestrians. Therefore, participants are encouraged not to wear headphones during the race to ensure they can hear marshal instructions and remain aware of their surroundings.
