Join us on Saturday, October 3rd for an exhilarating morning at the ECT 15 race, part of the East Coast Trail Ultramarathon series. The starting line is set to be buzzing with energy as runners gather from 8:15 AM in Memorial Park in Pouch Cove. Bib pickup and check-in will take place between 8:15 and 8:45 AM at the park’s entrance, providing ample time for last-minute preparations. Race Director Don Clarke invites you to reach out if any questions arise; his contact information is readily available via email or phone (226-268-3200). To ensure a smooth start, consider dropping off your vehicle or carpooling with fellow runners. The race kicks off promptly at 9:00 AM. The ECT 15 course offers the perfect blend of scenic beauty and challenging terrain, winding through picturesque landscapes along Newfoundland’s East Coast Trail. Runners will need to be prepared for variable weather conditions; a cell phone and whistle are mandatory safety items that all participants must carry throughout the race. For those seeking an immersive experience beyond just finishing strong, drop bags are permitted at both start and finish areas. This allows runners to switch into fresh clothes upon reaching the end of their journey. If you’re intrigued by longer distances but want a taste first, consider signing up for the ECT 50 Sampler Season’s Pass. It includes entries for both the October 3rd race as well as the half marathon on October 10th. This series is inspired and supported by The East Coast Trail Association, Train 4 Trails, and The Outfitters, all dedicated to fostering a community of trail runners. Registration details are crucial; bib numbers cannot be transferred between individuals but can be moved within this sampler event series with proper notice ahead of time. Should the race need to cancel due to unforeseen circumstances, refunds or rollovers will be offered.
