Ekiden d'Issoire

The L'Ekiden race is an exhilarating team relay running event covering the marathon distance of 42.195 km. Each six-person team runs distinct segments, with each runner tackling unique challenges:
- The first runner covers a brisk 5 kilometers to set the pace.
- The second takes over for 10 kilometers, pushing through the mid-race stretch.
- A third leg of 5 kilometers follows, bringing runners back into familiar territory.
- Another 10-kilometer section awaits, testing endurance and strategy.
- The fifth runner then handles a shorter but intense 5 kilometers.
- Finally, the sixth and last runner completes the journey with an invigorating 7.195 kilometers.
The race kicks off at 14:00 sharp from the Stade du Bout du Monde. Dossier pick-up is available starting from 11:00 on race day at the Gymnase du Bout du Monde, located along Rue Antonin Gaillard.
