On July 14, 2026, Gesnes-le-Gandelin will host the 14th edition of EKI'Gesnes, an exciting relay marathon and trail running event. The race begins at 9:00 AM with a unique team challenge that spans 10.6 kilometers, divided into four loops. Runners traverse 30% road and 70% trails, making for a dynamic experience. For those seeking a more rugged adventure, the EKI’TRAIL offers a fresh trail course covering 25 kilometers of untamed paths with an ascent of 290 meters. It commences at 9:30 AM, providing participants with breathtaking scenery and challenging terrain. Young athletes will have their own races too! The EKI’POUSS is designed for young runners aged 5 to 11 years old, featuring a non-competitive, fun run without timing or ranking. Mini-poussins (born between 2017 and 2019) and Baby Athlétiques will complete one small loop of 560 meters, while Poussins and Poussines (born between 2015 and 2016) tackle two loops covering 1,200 meters. For the older youth category, EKI’JEUNE presents a competitive race. Benjamins and Benjamines (aged 9 to 10) will run one large loop of 1,900 meters, while Minimes girls and boys (born between 2011 and 2012) will complete two loops totaling 3,800 meters. On the same day, EKI'PIEDS invites participants to a walking and nordic walking event. This 10.6-kilometer course, with its mix of road and trail sections, offers a scenic route that runs in reverse from the relay marathon. Registration is available on-site starting at 7:00 AM until just before race time. All participants must meet certain conditions to ensure safety and compliance with French sports regulations. For adults, either an FFA competition license or PPS (Prevention Sportive Santé) program suffices. Minors require a competition license from the FFA along with parental consent forms that detail health questions and medical clearance documents if necessary.
