Participation Requirements For those tackling the Complete Crossing distance, there are stringent requirements ensuring safety and preparation. Swimmers must either have completed previous Full Cross swims at El Cruce within five years or an Iron Swim (3.8 km) in the last three years without fins. Alternatively, participants can submit certificates proving completion of two 5km swims or one 10km swim from any event worldwide over the past two years. A coach's endorsement is also accepted as proof of fitness and readiness for this challenging distance. This document must be sent to req@elcruce.mx along with registration details, ensuring that all participants meet the necessary standards before race day. Registration Registrations open on July 26, 2026, at 12:00 PM (CDMX time). It is essential for swimmers to pick up their packets in person during designated hours. Late registrations are not accepted and must be completed through the RaceID system using the current USD exchange rate. Race Experience Saturday's event features a Half Iron Swim starting from Playa Caracol, with participants swimming around marked circuits before returning to shore for the finish line celebration. The next day, swimmers embark on an epic journey across open waters towards Isla Mujeres in the Complete Crossing race.
