El Cruce Women 2027: A Triumphant Journey from Cancun to Isla Mujeres Set against the backdrop of Mexico's breathtaking Caribbean coast, El Cruce Women 2027 invites women athletes to embark on a unique and challenging open water swim. The event takes place in two parts—Cancún and its neighboring island, Isla Mujeres—and offers an unforgettable experience for those who are ready to push their limits. ### Location & Dates The race begins at Playa Caracol in Cancun on Sunday, March 7, with participants swimming a distance of approximately 10 kilometers. This route takes swimmers from the vibrant shores of Cancún across the turquoise waters of the Caribbean Sea to reach Isla Mujeres, an idyllic island known for its serene beaches and lush greenery. ### Capacity & Registration With only 300 spots available, this exclusive event guarantees a personalized experience for every participant. Participants are strongly encouraged to undergo cardiac evaluations and laboratory tests before registering. These include an electrocardiogram (ECG), stress test, echocardiogram, complete blood count, blood chemistry and lipid profile, plasma electrolytes, spirometry if necessary, and other relevant medical checks. ### Race Format & Safety Measures The race is a point-to-point swim from Cancun to Isla Mujeres. Swimmers will be supported by over 50 non-motorized boats (kayaks and paddleboards) as well as more than 25 motorized vessels providing safety, security, and basic supplies throughout the route. The Mexican Navy's Fifth Region, Federal Park authorities, and Civil Protection teams also ensure a safe passage through protected waters. ### What’s Included in Your Registration Upon registration, participants receive an electronic timing chip for accurate race tracking.
