Epic East Gate, organized by the Dauphin Rotary Club in collaboration with Parks Canada, invites trail runners and ultra-distance enthusiasts to explore the rugged beauty of Riding Mountain National Park. Nestled just 15 minutes from McCreary, Manitoba, this unique event offers a variety of challenging courses designed for all skill levels. The centerpiece of Epic East Gate is its 50km figure-eight course, which winds through diverse terrain with over 1,000 meters of elevation gain. The route features iconic Little Bald Hill, offering panoramic views that will transport runners far from the prairie landscape into a realm of awe-inspiring vistas and rugged wilderness. In contrast to this grandeur is Reeves Ravine, where technical descents on flowy single-track trails provide an exhilarating experience reminiscent of big mountain running. For those seeking a shorter adventure, there's also a 25km loop course with nearly 600 meters of elevation gain, providing ample opportunities for runners to enjoy the park’s natural beauty. Meanwhile, beginners and casual trail enthusiasts can opt for the scenic 10km route, which serves as an ideal introduction to the joys of running on unpaved trails. Epic East Gate promises a day filled with breathtaking scenery, challenging terrain, and unforgettable experiences that celebrate both nature and athletic prowess. Participants should note that there are no refunds or deferrals available under any circumstances, and in case of unforeseen events preventing in-person participation, the event may transition to a virtual format. Join us for an adventure where every step reveals new wonders and challenges await around each bend.
