Inaugural Treherne Pinker-TEN Trail Race

This year's addition to the race calendar features two challenging trail races that promise an unforgettable adventure for endurance runners. The journey begins at Treherne Ag Grounds, where participants will board shuttles heading down to the Pinkerton School cairn, marking both the start line and a convenient meeting point.
The 10K route offers a mix of terrain, starting on maintained gravel roads before transitioning into more rugged paths. For the first mile, runners will navigate quiet country lanes that wind through rolling hills, offering scenic views and some elevation changes as they gradually descend back towards town. After this initial stretch, the trail becomes increasingly technical with meandering turkey trails leading to single-track sections of the newly developed Boyne Trail system.
The 16K/10-mile race follows a similar start but diverges at Pinkerton Lake lookout and monument where runners will venture into the Pinkerton Lakes Wildlife Refuge. Here, they’ll encounter a semi-maintained grass trail that winds through parkland forests, passing by a charming ski shelter along the way before looping back to the lookout tower. The route then heads north on PR242 towards the school cairn, where it merges with the 10K course for the final leg into town.
