It is designed as an "early-season" archipelago race that takes advantage of Runmarö's unique geography, which features inland lakes that warm up significantly faster than the surrounding Baltic Sea.

Course Breakdown and Terrain Details:

-- Phase 1: The Island Lakes: The race begins on the main island of Runmarö. Participants navigate easy-running trails and gravel roads with early swims in the "warm" inland lakes, Viträsket and Uppebyträsket.
-- Phase 2: Archipelago Adventure: The route then pushes out to Storholmen and the open sea. This section involves more technical trail running over iconic granite cliffs and shorter, refreshing sea swims in the Gråskärsfjärden area.
-- Phase 3: Final Transitions: The final segment includes longer swims at Noregrundet and Kila, mixed with fast transitions at Solberg and Storön, finishing with a 3 km dash back to the village.
-- The Hub: The start and finish lines are located at Svängens Krog, a local landmark that hosts the post-race "After Swimrun" party with food and community celebrations.
