Experience Dragon Boat Racing - Toronto Summer 2026
About the Event
Immerse yourself in the vibrant world of dragon boat racing this summer in Toronto. Whether you're looking to try out the sport, meet like-minded individuals, or simply enjoy some fun on the water, GWN Dragon Boat offers two fantastic programs: Train & Race and Race Ready. The Train & Race Package is a five-week program that culminates in the Tim Hortons GWN Dragon Boat Challenge at Marilyn Bell Park. Each week features one hour of practice sessions led by certified coaches, providing an ideal introduction to dragon boating without requiring too much time commitment. Participants will join forces with other enthusiasts and gain valuable experience leading up to the main event on September 12th-13th, 2026. For those who prefer a shorter lead-up period or are already familiar with the sport but need some refresher sessions before competing, the Race Ready Package is perfect. This program offers one practice session in the week leading up to the event, allowing participants to hone their skills just ahead of the challenge. Both packages include all necessary equipment such as boats, paddles, and lifejackets, ensuring that you only need to show up ready to splash into action. In addition to training sessions, both programs grant entry to the Tim Hortons GWN Dragon Boat Challenge at Marilyn Bell Park, where participants will race alongside fellow team members in a festive atmosphere. Teams receive branded shirts for the event as well as access to a dedicated tent within the Athletes' Village, enhancing the camaraderie and spirit of competition. Join us this summer to experience dragon boat racing like never before—whether you're new to the sport or looking to reconnect with it after some time away. With scenic views along Toronto's waterfront and engaging practices led by expert coaches, there’s no better way to dive into a thrilling aquatic adventure. Experience the excitement of team spirit, breathtaking scenery, and exhilarating competition at Marilyn Bell Park this September. Don't miss out on making lasting memories with fellow paddlers in one of Canada's most dynamic cities.
