Export 100 Trail Run

The Export 100 Trail Run is an epic journey through the scenic trails of western Pennsylvania, offering runners a unique blend of natural beauty and community support. Spanning 104 miles with over 7,392 feet of elevation gain, this challenging out-and-back route takes you along iconic paths such as the Westmoreland Heritage Trail and West Penn Trail during autumn's vibrant foliage.
The race begins at Export’s Westmoreland Heritage Trailhead, where runners will embark on a scenic adventure through diverse landscapes. The course includes portions that are accessible to family and friends who can witness much of your journey from nearby roads or trails. For the first half, you'll traverse parks like Duff and Pleasant Valley, enjoying miles with stunning views under changing fall colors.
Aid stations are strategically placed throughout the route, providing essential support every 10-25 miles. These fully stocked stations offer hot food, Tailwind electrolyte drinks, and a variety of ultra-style snacks to keep you fueled for your long haul. Notably, after mile 62, pacers can join runners on singletrack trails within Morosini Reserve and the parks.
The trail is lined with heated bathrooms equipped with running water at most aid stations, ensuring comfort during breaks. The race has a generous cut-off time of up to 32 hours, allowing ample opportunity for rest while maintaining the integrity of the event schedule.
As you progress through the second half, more picturesque sections await, including trails in Murrysville and Trafford. Each mile offers new challenges and rewards as runners navigate varying terrains, from gentle paths along rivers to steep climbs through wooded areas.
