Experience the Beaver Valley Section of the Bruce Trail at Falling Water Marathon, an exhilarating trail running adventure sanctioned by Athletics Ontario. This year, we are thrilled to partner with La Sportiva, offering shoe demos and giving away two pairs for lucky participants. The race is set on Saturday, August 8, 2026, starting early in the morning at the Beaver Valley Ski Club. For those preferring a Sunday run, the Half Marathon will take place there as well. The unique Falling Water Marathonafter the iconic trail section is designed to challenge even seasoned runners with its rugged terrain and breathtaking views. This isn't your average marathon; it's a test of endurance on a course that gains nearly 1600 meters in elevation before losing another 1600 meters, featuring numerous small climbs and descents. The course is rocky and rooty, making every step challenging. Although not a Boston Qualifier, this race demands serious trail running skills. Aid stations will be spaced further apart due to the demanding terrain, but they'll provide essential hydration points. Runners should prepare for steep ascents like Campbell's Hill and Graham’s Hill, which are particularly grueling. The scenery is stunning, with waterfalls and rolling hills that make the tough sections worthwhile. The Falling Water Marathonaffects only 100 participants in each distance—trail marathon (approximately 42km) or trail half-marathon (about 21km). Registration fills up quickly, so keep an eye on Race Roster for any openings. All Happy Trails Racing events are cup-less; bring a collapsible water bottle to fill at aid stations. Proceeds from each registration will benefit the Beaver Valley Bruce Trail Club, ensuring this event continues year after year. The race cut-off is generous but strict: 11 hours for marathon runners and just under five and a half hours for half-marathon participants. Make it a weekend getaway! Explore the charming towns around the Beaver Valley Ski Club, where you can find cozy Airbnbs or rent quaint cottages. Enjoy local pastries at the Kimberley General Store, grab fresh groceries from Top of the Rock, or savor delicious meals at Justin's Oven. Register now and prepare for an unforgettable trail running experience that will challenge your limits while rewarding you with unparalleled beauty and adventure in one of Canada’s most scenic regions.

About Eugenia
Learn more about the host city, Eugenia.
Eugenia is a small community in the municipality of Grey Highlands, Grey County, in Southwestern Ontario, Canada, located just north of the community of Flesherton. An unincorporated hamlet of Artemesia Township for most of its history, Eugenia was amalgamated into Grey Highlands in 2001. Due to nearby Lake Eugenia, Eugenia Falls, the Bruce Trail and the ski resorts of the Beaver Valley, it has become a popular tourist and cottage destination. The nearby Eugenia Power Station has the highest head of water of any hydroelectric generator in Ontario, and has provided a significant amount of electricity to the provincial grid for a century.
