Fon Solo Gravel/Last Standing/Cider Cross (Maine Gravel Series)
About the Event
Cider Cross / Fon Solo Weekend 2026! Year Five — Bigger, Better, and More Fun Than Ever! [October 3-4 | Alna, ME] Join us for an unforgettable fall festival that celebrates the best of cycling and running. This two-day event offers a mix of short-track mountain biking (MTB) and cyclocross (CX), last-person-standing trail runs, epic gravel rides, and camping under starlit skies. Saturdays festivities kick off with Cider Cross + Backyard Ultra-Style Run. Cider Cross Race: Experience a thrilling 40-minute race across a one-mile course. For the upcoming year, this route will feature faster, more open sections of gravel-friendly terrain to keep you on your toes. Expect muddy patches and spirited heckling as you push through. Backyard Ultra-Style Trail Run: Participate in an easy version of Backyard Ultra with loops around 1 mile long. The time limit decreases by one minute per lap—beginning at 20 minutes for the first loop, then reducing to 19 minutes and so on. Keep running until you can't make it anymore! Last year's fastest runners completed up to six laps in just over nine minutes. Enjoy a variety of food, drinks, and camping opportunities. Sign up early if you want your preferred spot; spots are limited and will sell out quickly. BYOBreakfast (but seriously, secure your campsite now). On Sunday, the Fon Solo Gravel Loop awaits as our grand finale through the scenic Sheepscot Valley. Two route options cater to all skill levels: Short Loop: Approximately 25 miles—easier and faster with fewer climbs. Perfect for those curious about gravel riding. Full Loop: A classic adventure spanning around 49 miles, offering challenging climbs, breathtaking views, and chunky gravel sections that will test your limits. Less Full Loop: About 41 miles, identical to the full loop but without its final eight-mile stretch. Both routes allow you to cruise through picturesque roads and remote backcountry beauty. Roll past Oxbow Brewing's tasting deck near the finish line for a well-deserved break before wrapping up with good vibes and cold cider. All events are open to everyone—racers, riders, runners, or just those looking to enjoy the festivities. Register now as spots fill quickly; all proceeds support The Schmid Preserve in Edgecomb. Additionally, this year features merchandise available! Choose from a selection of T-shirts, hoodies, and trucker hats directly through Hubnotic. Half of each order benefits the preserve—ride, run, or race for a great cause. https://www.hubnotic.com/collections/fon-solo
