FOTO Thornbridge Outdoors 20

The Friends of Thornbridge Outdoors (FOTO) are thrilled to present the Thornbridge Outdoors 20, a 20.3-mile walk/run that winds through the stunning Peak District countryside with an impressive elevation gain of 850 meters.
This event offers participants an immersive experience in one of England's most picturesque national parks, showcasing the beauty and ruggedness of the landscape as they traverse winding trails and serene woodlands. The route begins at Thornbridge Outdoors, a historic venue steeped in tradition dating back to the "Thornbridge 18" fell race from over three decades ago.
Participants will enjoy a lap around the Thornbridge Estate before embarking on an exciting journey through various terrains that include rolling hills and serene valleys. The route features plenty of natural beauty with panoramic views, offering runners and walkers alike a memorable challenge.
Upon completion, participants are greeted back at Thornbridge Outdoors by cheering supporters and volunteers who will be there to celebrate their achievement. A well-deserved reward awaits in the form of a refreshing beer from Thornbridge Brewery.
The event supports FOTO's mission to provide high-quality outdoor learning opportunities for young people through Thornbridge Outdoors, an adventure center located near Bakewell that offers enriching experiences in nature. By participating, you contribute directly to removing barriers and creating more amazing adventures for the youth in the Peak District region.
Registration opens at 6:45 am on race day with staggered start times designed around different participant needs:
- Walkers can begin their journey anytime between 7am and 8am.
- Runners not aiming for a prize, excluding V70 category runners who have special timing considerations, may start from 8am to 9:30 am.
- A mass start is provided at 10am for those who prefer the camaraderie of starting together.
Race day logistics will be communicated in advance through FOTO's website and pre-race communications, ensuring all participants are well-informed about checkpoint times and necessary equipment requirements.
Merchandise such as event t-shirts can be pre-ordered closer to race day with details provided via email updates from the organizers.
