Frozen Assets Endurance Run

The Frozen Assets Endurance Run is set to take place on January 9, 2027, at Harriet Hollister Spencer State Recreation Area. This winter trail race draws inspiration from the revered traditions of both the Frozen Assets Snowshoe Race and S6 Endurance Mountain Bike Race, blending a rich history with contemporary endurance challenges.
Participants will embark on an approximately 10k loop course that winds through the scenic single-track trails blazed for mountain bikers in previous years. The terrain is expected to be covered in snow due to the winter setting, offering runners the opportunity to experience trail running under challenging and picturesque conditions. However, it's important to note that while there are no aid stations along the route, participants should come prepared with their own hydration and nutrition supplies.
The race begins at 10:00 AM sharp from the parking lot of Harriet Hollister Spencer State Recreation Area, where runners will also check in starting at 9:00 AM. The event is part of the Common Ground Winter Trail Series—a collaborative effort by FarFetched Enterprises, Goose Adventure Racing, and Doody Runs to foster a sense of community among trail runners throughout winter months.
Registration for the series offers various options—short, medium, or long distances—and includes exclusive perks such as free entry into the Go Forth! event (details TBA), custom swag, and an opportunity to join the FarFetched Mug Club. This club provides members with a uniquely crafted 24 fl oz mug designed for enjoying hot beverages during cold weather races.
Post-race festivities will commence at Birdhouse Brewing in Honeoye around noon, approximately a ten-minute drive from the race venue. Here, runners and their supporters can enjoy complimentary drinks, including Birdhouse’s award-winning craft beer, mulled apple cider (with or without whiskey), Blue Barn hard cider, soda, and snacks.
Event policies emphasize inclusivity and flexibility for participants, with no price increases on registration fees until event day and relaxed deadlines for deferrals and refunds. Additionally, the Race Director reserves the right to disqualify individuals who engage in unsportsmanlike conduct, including abusive behavior towards staff or other runners, littering, damaging trails, receiving unauthorized aid, or course-cutting.
