Full Moon Infinity Bouc-Bel-Air

About the Event

Nestled between Aix-en-Provence and Marseille, Bouc-Bel-Air transforms into a nocturnal playground during summer nights for the Full Moon Infinity. This unique race invites runners to escape the scorching Provençal heat by taking to the streets under the cover of darkness and the glow of a full moon.
The concept is inspired by Gary Cantrell's Backyard Ultra, but with a twist that caters to varying levels of endurance and ambition. Runners can choose from five different loop formats ranging from 6.7 km (1 loop) to an epic 100.5 km journey over 15 loops. Each format offers its own challenge and rewards, whether it’s the marathon-like distance in six laps or a more relaxed Sunday morning run.
As night falls, the cityscape changes dramatically. The oppressive heat gives way to cooler temperatures, and the streets become quiet havens for runners. With only headlamps guiding their path, participants navigate through neighborhoods that come alive under moonlight. Each loop offers scenic routes with runnable sections, providing a serene yet challenging experience.
The event's atmosphere is marked by contrasts: solitary runs in darkness punctuated by moments of communal celebration at the village center. As dawn approaches, the energy shifts from silence to cheers and support as runners push through their final loops. The finish line isn’t just about crossing; it’s an invitation to embrace a well-deserved rest amidst the festive spirit.
On Sunday morning, participants can indulge in traditional Provençal brunches featuring pastries and fresh fruit juices, savoring the taste of victory. A stroll around Aix-en-Provence's Cours Mirabeau or visits to local markets add to the experience, allowing runners to soak up the region’s rich culture and flavors.
For those feeling energized, exploring further is an option. From olive groves to bustling markets filled with sun-drenched fruits and artisanal goods like calissons, there are plenty of ways to extend the event's magic beyond race day. For others, a restful nap under an ancient olive tree offers respite from the night’s exertions.
The Full Moon Infinity is not just about running; it's an immersive experience that combines physical challenge with cultural immersion and community spirit. Are you ready for this unique adventure? With your bib in hand and sneakers laced up, prepare to run circles around Bouc-Bel-Air under a sky lit by the full moon.
The event promises an unforgettable journey through Provençal nights, where every loop is not just a distance covered but a memory made.
