Furry Scurry Fun Run and Walk

The Annual Paws and Play Fun Run, now in its eighth edition, returns to the charming Chickamauga Dam Riverpark on October 31st. This year’s race promises an unforgettable experience for both runners and their four-legged companions.
Race morning will greet participants with crisp autumn air, ideal for a comfortable run along the park's well-maintained trails. The course starts at 9 am sharp, offering two exciting options: the Pug Pursuit 5K or the Whippet Waddle 1 Mile. Both routes are designed to showcase Chickamauga Dam Riverpark’s picturesque landscapes and include strategically placed water stations for hydration.
On race day, expect clear skies with temperatures hovering around a comfortable 17°C, typical of early October in Chattanooga. While moderate UV exposure is expected due to the sun's position, sunscreen may be wise if you plan on spending longer outside. A slight chance of light rain (approximately 1.3 mm) suggests it’s prudent to check weather updates closer to the event date.
Proceeds from this race support Warrior Freedom Service Dogs, a vital non-profit organization that trains service dogs for veterans, significantly enhancing their quality of life in local communities. Over 80 participants have joined previous events, making this more than just an athletic competition—it's about contributing positively to society.

Packet pickup is available at Chattanooga Sports Chiropractic Institute from 4-6 pm on October 30th, or between 7:00-8:30 am the day of the event at Chickamauga Dam Riverpark.
The race begins in the parking lot adjacent to Chickamauga Dam Riverpark, accessible via Eastgate Drive near Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard. Participants under 18 must be accompanied by an adult.
