Oli Kai 3, 6, & 9 Hour

The Oli Kai 3, 6, & 9 Hour returns to Chattanooga, Tennessee on September 5th, offering runners a unique endurance challenge within the scenic Reflection Riding Arboretum and Nature Center. This event is part of Bad Beard Events' collection and caters to both new and seasoned trail runners with flexible options for participation. The race takes place in the heart of Chattanooga's historic district, where participants can enjoy the trails on 317 acres that include an arboretum and nature center.
Race morning typically sees clear skies and comfortable temperatures around 65°F at dawn, ideal conditions for running or walking along the challenging yet rewarding trail system. Runners will experience a firm but slightly soft surface as they navigate through the diverse terrain of Reflection Riding Arboretum's natural beauty. The race offers flexibility with distances that accommodate runners’ pacing preferences.
Since its inception in 2025, Oli Kai has become an integral part of Chattanooga’s running community and is organized to support local causes such as the Reflection Riding Arboretum and Nature Center. With a history of attracting over two hundred participants annually, this event stands out for its inclusive nature and supportive atmosphere.
The course features a 2.1-mile loop that includes approximately 190 feet of elevation gain per lap. Aid stations are set up along the route to provide necessary hydration and nutrition throughout the race duration. Participants also have the option to create their own aid station near the start/finish line, enhancing personal comfort during long hours of activity.
Weather conditions on September 5th typically feature clear skies with mild temperatures ranging from low 60s to high 70s Fahrenheit at dawn. A moderate UV index around 5 is expected, requiring runners to wear sunscreen and protective clothing. The Oli Kai race offers three distinct challenges: a 3-hour event with a fee of $60.00, a 6-hour option costing $70.00, and an extended 9-hour relay for $90.00. On race day, packets can be collected between 7:00AM and 7:45AM directly at the start/finish line within Reflection Riding Arboretum.
Start location for all races is situated at 400 Garden Road in Chattanooga’s historic district, beginning promptly at 8am sharp on September 5th. Age requirements are flexible but participants must be able to complete their chosen distance safely and independently. Participants interested in camping Friday or Saturday night can add this option during registration.
