The route is designed to showcase some of Gloucester's most notable landmarks and attractions while maintaining a predominantly flat profile that caters to runners looking for a swift pace. Participants will start their journey in the heart of the city center, passing by iconic structures like the magnificent cathedral before heading towards the bustling docks area near Gloucester Quays. The course then ventures onto the tranquil canal towpath, providing an idyllic backdrop as they complete one lap that partially retraces earlier sections.
Throughout this scenic run, water stations will be strategically placed at 3K and 7K to keep runners hydrated during their journey. Distance markers are set every kilometer for easy tracking of progress. While the route does include a few twists due to its aim of highlighting key sites around Gloucester, it remains largely traffic-free thanks to careful planning by organizers.
