Welcome to the Return of the Grateful XC Race, now firmly established as one of the highlights on the regional trail calendar. Set against the backdrop of Memphremagog Trails, this race promises an unforgettable experience for all participants. The Course: Embark on a meticulously crafted 10-mile loop that showcases some of the best singletrack in the region. Expect fast and flowing descents where gravity does its magic, and tight, twisty sections filled with technical challenges—think roots and trees that add to the old-school charm. With over 1,300 feet of elevation gain per lap, this course is designed not just for seasoned racers but also those looking for a rewarding challenge. Race or Ride: Choose your adventure: Race one loop (perfect for skill and stamina testing) or tackle two loops if you’re feeling adventurous. Alternatively, the Party Pace Option offers riders the chance to enjoy the full race-day atmosphere at their own pace—no pressure here! For younger enthusiasts, there’s a free kids’ ride led by experienced group leaders who will ensure that the next generation enjoys every twist and turn. No Pressure, No Prejudice: Grateful embraces an inclusive approach, welcoming racers of all genders and abilities. Whether you're a seasoned athlete or just starting your journey in mountain biking, this event is designed to cater to everyone's pace and style. The After-Party: Post-race festivities include delicious local food trucks, live music, and the vibrant Grateful community vibe that keeps participants coming back year after year. Don’t miss out on the fun at the on-site farmers market or the pump track and skills area open for all ages. Supporting a Cause: This year’s event honors Anthony Moccia—a co-founder of Rasputitsa and an early driving force behind Grateful, whose commitment to the Northeast Kingdom community has been invaluable. Proceeds will support the Halo Foundation, providing crucial financial assistance to families dealing with cancer treatment, as well as Little Bellas, which empowers women through cycling. A Community Event: Founded in 2021, Grateful has grown into a cornerstone of the region’s trail culture, fostering connections and inclusivity. Over the past five years, it has donated over $15,000 to local organizations that strengthen our community ties. Past Experiences: For those looking forward to what's next, check out this video capturing last year's event. The 2025 GPX file provides a taste of what’s in store for the upcoming race—though some minor changes are expected. Mark your calendars and get ready for an experience that blends challenge with camaraderie at the Grateful XC Race!
