Great Barrow Challenge - 10 events in 10 days

Experience the Great Barrow Challenge, presented by Zig Zag Running, at Suffolk Running Centre in Bury St Edmunds. This 10-day running extravaganza offers runners of all distances—from 5k to ultra marathons—the chance to explore unique and varied routes each day.
Participants will begin their journey on Day 1 with the Denham Flats route, a scenic 10.55km loop that sets the tone for an exciting series of daily challenges ahead. Each subsequent day brings new terrain and landscapes: Windmill Hill offers rolling hills; Quackers presents winding trails through picturesque countryside; Back Quack showcases more challenging paths; Dalham Kiln features varied elevations; Golding Hills provides a straightforward 10km out-and-back route; Chevington Chase, Mill Wind, Gallops, and Hargrave each bring their unique challenges with half marathon routes that twist and turn through diverse landscapes.
For those tackling the full or ultra distances, every day promises a different course to test your endurance. Meanwhile, 5k and 10k runners will enjoy the Mount Barrow route on Day 10 as they complete their portion of this epic challenge.
The event is conveniently located at Suffolk Running Centre with ample parking included in your entry fee. Race HQ serves as both start/finish line and base camp for participants, providing essential hydration stations throughout each day's run.
Each finisher receives a bespoke medal to commemorate the completion of that day’s race, adding to the sense of achievement as you progress through the 10 days.
To ensure sustainability, please bring your own refillable bottles or cups; the event is "cupless" in an effort to reduce waste. Additionally, dogs and buggies are not permitted on these routes due to safety concerns along open roads.
