Welcome to the 5th annual Green Mountain Cyclocross, set for Sunday, October 11th, at the picturesque Catamount Outdoor Family Center (COFC) in Williston, Vermont. This non-profit event is organized by Green Mountain Off-Road and supported by the Catamount Outdoor Family Center, with proceeds going towards youth cycling programs and local racing initiatives. The course spans approximately 1.6 miles, offering a mix of challenging turns, steep climbs, and power sections. Expect thrilling views as you navigate through this scenic venue amidst the stunning backdrop of Vermont’s Green Mountains. The race is sanctioned by North American Bicycle Racing Association (NABRA), ensuring fair competition for all participants. Junior racers will find their races free of charge, thanks to support from Nick Depasquale Photography. For those looking to experience more than one exciting event, registration for a second race costs just $20. Camping is available on-site Saturday night at a cost of $15 per person; spots can be reserved through the registration page under “merchandise.” Be mindful that parking in COFC’s lot will be limited and tightly managed by volunteer attendants. Overflow parking is provided at the ‘Oval’ just before reaching Catamount Outdoor Center, but access to this area is restricted until race day. Pets are not permitted on-site due to the gracious request of our hosts, ensuring a focused racing environment for all participants. The course layout includes several dismount points and expects top riders to complete it in around 7 minutes. Spectators can enjoy baller views from various vantage points along the route. Pre-racing is strictly controlled; you may only enter beyond the start/finish line after confirmation by officials that the last rider has started their final lap, without passing any racers still on course. Disqualification will result for those who violate this rule. Staging begins 10 minutes before each race and follows CrossResults ranking order, followed by day-of registration participants. Club members can reserve a 10x10 pop-up tent space next to the course; these spots are limited, so secure yours early! Food and drink will be available from Frost Brewing with burgers, veggie burgers, and dogs for purchase. Seltzers and sodas will also be served along with apples and cider donuts for a suggested donation. Skills clinics on Saturday offer training sessions tailored to novice to intermediate level athletes. One clinic is designed for junior racers while the other caters specifically to women and girls in development (WGD). Both are led by former World Cup athletes and local pros, providing an invaluable learning experience. For those not racing with a cyclocross bike, don't worry—your gravel or hardtail mountain bike will suffice. The race venue is conveniently located just across the road from ample parking areas. The Catamount Outdoor Family Center has been hosting outdoor activities since 1978 and now supports local, regional, and international-level cycling events including UCI cyclocross races. Participating in GMCX directly contributes to its ongoing efforts. Join us for an unforgettable weekend of racing amidst Vermont’s natural beauty!
