This beloved Middle Tennessee tradition takes place at Oaklawn Plantation, an historic estate nestled in Spring Hill, TN, offering a picturesque setting that runners will cherish. Registration opens early to ensure you secure this year’s exclusive t-shirt by September 12th. The event is designed for all weather conditions—runners and walkers alike can expect the race to proceed rain or shine with no refunds available. On race day, participants are invited to Oaklawn Mansion at 3331 Denning Lane, between Kedron Parkway and Highway 31. Please enter from Kedron Parkway and turn right at the first entrance for parking; note that Denning Lane will be closed off near Hwy. 31. The morning kicks off with registration and packet pickup starting at 7 AM, followed by a bustling Kid's Zone opening to provide entertainment for young runners-in-training. At 8 AM sharp, both the Grey Ghost 5K and 10K races commence. The scenic course winds through Oaklawn’s lush grounds, offering stunning views of this historic plantation. Awards presentations for top finishers in each race category will take place at 9:00 AM to honor outstanding performances. Immediately following these accolades, the Goblin Gallop awaits with two kid-friendly distances—1K and a half-mile run—for children aged pre-K through fifth grade. This spirited event encourages little goblins of all ages to don their best Halloween costumes while enjoying a safe and fun environment. The 1K course for second through fifth graders showcases much of the Oaklawn property, providing an engaging challenge that’s both exciting and manageable. For younger children in pre-K, kindergarten, and first grade, a half-mile loop around the main house offers a shorter yet equally enjoyable experience. Both races promise to be festive occasions with finish line tokens awarded to all participants. The event concludes by 11:30 AM but not before families have had ample time for fun and relaxation in the Kid's Zone from 7 AM until noon, complete with activities tailored especially for young runners.
