Celebrate an autumn evening with the Fifth Annual Halloween Victory Tour, presented by Velo Amis. This unique cycling experience will take you through the picturesque landscapes of Lancaster and West Chester counties on three distinct routes: 50 miles (Long), 35 miles (Medium), and a 27-mile out-and-back route. The ride begins and ends at the charming Victory Brewing Company in Parkesburg, Pennsylvania. As you pedal along the Enola Low Grade Bike Path and rural roads, prepare to encounter more gravel, hills, and scenic beauty than ever before. The event is designed for all levels of cyclists, with a focus on enjoying the history and culture that these counties have to offer. Registration opens at 9 am sharp, with riders required to depart by 10 am. A free gift awaits you upon completion of your chosen route—limited to the first 200 participants—and there will be complimentary beer or non-alcoholic drinks available for all attendees. Aid stations are strategically placed along each route: one on the 27-mile and 35-mile routes at around mile 12, and two on the 50-mile route near miles 16 and 36. A gravel bike is recommended for this event due to its challenging terrain, though mountain bikes with a less aggressive tread are also suitable. The course will be well-marked, but participants must download maps and cue sheets from BikeReg prior to the event as no Cue Sheets will be provided on-site. Route changes may occur based on local conditions. This ride is not competitive; it’s about enjoying the journey with friends and family. Participants can expect a scenic route that includes numerous users of the bike paths, so please follow local traffic rules and maintain single-file riding to ensure safety for all. A Halloween costume contest will add some fun flair, encouraging riders to dress up as they explore these historic counties. Proceeds from this event support Velo Amis in its mission to fund an e-road bike for Dave Troop, who is battling metastatic pancreatic cancer. Every rider’s participation helps further the organization's goals of supporting local cycling trails and teams like The Hellbenders mountain biking squad.
