Happy Feet Healthy Heart 5K Walk

Race morning finds participants gathering at the picturesque Glen Haven Woods Park. This park offers a serene setting, enveloped by lush greenery and winding trails that stretch out into the early August light. The air is cool as it starts to warm under the sun's rays, with temperatures ranging from 17.6°C to 27.5°C during race time.
This event has been running for several years now, growing in popularity each year. In previous events, thousands of participants have joined us at Glen Haven Woods Park. The walk supports a local scholarship fund aimed at promoting physical and mental well-being within the community through outdoor activities like forest bathing. This year, we are excited to offer both a 5K Family Walk and an Individual Walk for all ages.
The course venue is set in the heart of Glen Haven Woods Park, with its hard and dry surface providing a smooth run along designated trails that gently wind around the park's perimeter. The race begins at the main entrance on Oakwood Boulevard near downtown Wheaton, where participants will receive their bibs before heading out onto the course.
The weather forecast predicts average temperatures in the mid-20s Celsius with slight humidity levels of 71.2%, making for a comfortable but slightly warm day. With an average wind speed of 10.2 km/h and high UV index, sun protection is recommended throughout the race. Precipitation risks are minimal, with only 2.4mm expected.

Bibs can be picked up at Glen Haven Woods Park on race day from 8am to 9am, where participants must bring their ID and payment. The start location is the main entrance of the park on Oakwood Boulevard in downtown Wheaton. Participants are required to be 16 years or older for this event.
