Hardmoors 26.2 is an exhilarating series of six trail marathons set amidst the stunning landscapes of North York Moors and Cleveland Heritage Coastline, offering runners breathtaking views and challenging terrain. Registration for all races takes place at Sea Cadets Hall in Belmangate Guisborough (TS14 7AQ), where participants can sign up between 08:00 and 09:40 AM. The trail marathon begins promptly at 09:00, followed by the half marathon at 10:00 and the 10k race starting at 11:00. Competitors must adhere to strict time limits—10 hours for the full marathon, 5 hours for the half marathon, and 3 hours for the 10k. Each runner is required to carry essential kit such as a map case, whistle, waterproof jacket, hat, gloves, emergency repair supplies, food, water, and an energy source like gels or sweets. Without these items, runners will not be permitted to start. The route of each race winds through rugged terrain with exposed areas that can become challenging in adverse weather conditions. The trail marathon reaches the highest point of North York Moors and maintains this elevation for several miles, making it a true test of endurance and skill. Navigational skills are essential as none of the Hardmoors 26.2 races will be marked or signed; instead, runners must rely on downloadable route descriptions and maps provided by organizers. Race day also includes sweepers to ensure no runner is left behind, while marshals stationed at key road crossings provide assistance if needed. In case a participant needs to withdraw during the race, they should proceed to the nearest checkpoint where a marshal will coordinate transport back to the start line. Prize ceremonies for both half marathon and 10k races are scheduled around midday (subject to change), while full marathon winners receive their awards at approximately 2:00 PM. Additionally, participants have the option to purchase XCovr insurance, offering peace of mind in case they need to cancel due to unforeseen circumstances. Hardmoors 26.2 is more than just a race; it's an adventure through some of Britain’s most beautiful and varied landscapes, challenging runners both physically and mentally while rewarding them with unforgettable experiences.
