Running enthusiasts and trail runners, mark your calendars for an unforgettable adventure on Sunday, June 20th, 2027. The Hardmoors Trail Marathon series invites you to experience the rugged beauty of Chop Gate Village Hall with a choice of three challenging routes: the marathon (42km), half-marathon (21km), and 10k. Entries for this event will open on July 26th, 2026, at 7 PM. From then until midnight on Wednesday, July 29th, entry is exclusively available to those with a valid Hardmoors voucher code. If you hold such a voucher from another Hardmoors event and wish to participate in this race, contact [email protected] for a transfer. The marathon and half-marathon courses are circular routes that start at Chop Gate Village Hall on Raisdale Road. The 10k route starts an hour later than the other two races, offering runners more time to prepare before setting off. Participants in both the marathon and half-marathon will find themselves navigating exposed terrain with significant elevation changes. A waterproof jacket, hat, and gloves are mandatory for these routes due to their challenging conditions. While not required for the 10k route, similar protective gear is highly recommended. The event features staggered start times: - Marathon at 8 AM - Half-Marathon at 9 AM - 10k starting promptly at 10 AM Runners have generous time limits to complete each distance: - Marathon runners must finish within a 10-hour window. - The half-marathon has a six-hour cutoff. - Participants in the 10k race are given four hours. All routes require careful planning regarding hydration and nutrition. No plastic cups will be provided at checkpoints, so participants should bring their own reusable containers for water and other fluids throughout the course. Additionally, runners must carry safety pins to secure their bib numbers during the event. Please note that dogs are not permitted on any of Hardmoors' events due to health and safety regulations. For more detailed information about mandatory kit requirements and race day logistics, visit www.hardmoors110.org.uk. Participants can also purchase XCover insurance to safeguard against unforeseen circumstances preventing their attendance. Join us for a day filled with scenic beauty, challenging terrain, and the spirit of community among runners who share a passion for trail running in Yorkshire's stunning landscapes.
