Hatfield Moors - Race Series

About the Event

Nestled within the expansive Humberhead Peatland, Hatfield Moors offers runners an unparalleled opportunity to explore one of Britain's largest areas of raised bog wilderness. This internationally recognized site is not only home to rare breeding nightjars but also provides a unique and pristine setting for canicross enthusiasts.
The Miles Moors and Mementoes Series kicks off on October 18, 2026, with an invigorating 4-mile run through the varied trails of Hatfield Moor. Participants will experience both fast-paced sections and technical terrain that highlight the moor's diverse landscape. The event emphasizes camaraderie among like-minded individuals who share a passion for running alongside their canine companions.
For those seeking more adventure, another race is scheduled on November 22, 2026. This outing features two route options: a scenic 4-mile run and an extended 6.3-mile journey that delves deeper into the moor's intricate network of trails. The series concludes with a festive start to the New Year on January 3, 2027, offering runners either a refreshing 4-mile loop or an additional longer option across the Moors.
Upon completing each race, participants will be rewarded with goodie bags for their dogs and may receive small tokens of appreciation for themselves. Refreshments will also be available to help everyone recharge after their efforts.
The Hallam and Doncaster Canicross Clubs are excited to welcome runners and their furry friends to these inaugural public events, which promise an authentic canicross experience in a truly special setting. There are no hidden fees or booking charges, ensuring that the focus remains on enjoying time with your dog amidst nature's splendor.
Membership offers additional perks such as discounts and early access to future races, making it a worthwhile consideration for regular participants looking to stay connected with this vibrant community.
Join us at Hatfield Moors for an unforgettable canicross adventure where breathtaking scenery meets the joy of running alongside loyal companions.
