The Yorkshire Junior Triathlon Series 2026 culminates with an exciting celebration at Manvers Lake and Nature Park near Rotherham on Sunday, September 6th from 2pm to 4pm. This free event is open exclusively to those who have participated in any of the series races.
Competitors will face a unique short course that combines swimming and running loops along with some added physical and mental challenges designed specifically for young athletes. The swim portion takes place in Manvers Lake, covering approximately 100 meters per lap. Participants then transition into their running shoes to complete around 400 meters of non-tarmac terrain before encountering the obstacles.
To participate, swimmers are required to bring a trisuit or swimming attire, goggles, and a swim cap along with appropriate footwear for both water and land activities. While wetsuits, pull buoys, and hand paddles can be used as optional gear, all competitors must carry their own equipment throughout the entire course.
Supporters will have the opportunity to cheer on participants while providing essential hydration and snacks such as bottled water, tea, bananas, or pork pies since no official refreshment stations are available. This event promises a memorable day filled with camaraderie and accomplishment for young triathletes eager to showcase their skills against challenging conditions.
The Manvers Lake setting offers an enchanting backdrop of natural beauty, making it the perfect venue for this celebratory finale where trophies will be awarded at the conclusion of the race.
