About the Event

Join the 11th Annual Hearts for Our Hospital Bicycle Challenge on Saturday, November 7, 2026. This vibrant cycling event offers five distinct route options to cater to all skill levels and ambitions. From the scenic countryside of The Villages, you can choose between a 75-mile yellow route, marking three-quarters of your century ride; a 63-mile orange metric century; a half-metric green journey covering 33 miles; or a more manageable 20-mile purple quarter-century option for those new to long-distance cycling. The shortest and most family-friendly choice is the 10-mile blue fun ride.
The event kicks off from the Savannah Center, located at 1545 N. Buena Vista Boulevard in The Villages, offering participants a well-marked course with numerous rest stops stocked with refreshments along the way. As you complete your chosen route, enjoy post-ride lunch and entertainment at the finish line.
This event is not just about cycling; it's also an opportunity to support UF Health Spanish Plaines Hospital Foundation in their mission of improving healthcare through education and equipment acquisition. Funds raised will be used for medical scholarships ranging from $2,000 per student up to four years based on academic performance and eligibility criteria.
For those who can't join the ride but still want to contribute, look out for LifeSouth Blood Mobile at the event. Every donation has the potential to save three lives locally by supporting UF Health (Spanish Plaines and Leesburg), The Villages EMS, and Shands Hospital.
Preparation is key: register early to ensure you receive a commemorative t-shirt in your preferred style and size before inventory runs out. Registration includes personalized number bibs, an event packet delivered home, safety pins, printed route maps, cue sheets, and post-event lunch.
The registration deadline for guaranteed shirt styles and sizes is September 20, while personalization of number bibs closes on October 11. By this date, you can also secure your event packet at home to ensure a seamless experience.
Plan ahead; late registrations may not guarantee the same benefits due to limited inventory. Register early to participate in this community-driven celebration and make a meaningful difference!
