Highland Fling Relay Race

Welcome to the Highland Fling Relay Race, an exhilarating two-person relay event set along Scotland's iconic West Highland Way trail. This race takes place on Saturday, August 29th, and covers the southern 53 miles (85 km) from Milngavie near Glasgow through the picturesque Loch Lomond & the Trossachs National Park to Tyndrum.
The route winds through stunning landscapes, offering runners a unique blend of challenging terrain and breathtaking scenery. Teams must strategically plan their relay transitions at Rowardennan, where Leg 1 concludes and Leg 2 begins. The first runner is expected to reach Rowardennan by the 'soft' cut-off time of 12:45 PM; however, if this isn't met, the second leg can still start with a combined finish time reflecting both runners’ individual efforts.
Leg 2 runners face several critical checkpoints along their journey. The first is Inversnaid at 7.3 miles by 2:45 PM, followed by Beinglas at 13.7 miles by 5:15 PM and the A82 road crossing at 22.8 miles by 8:15 PM.
The race welcomes runners of all abilities who reasonably expect to meet these time constraints. With no specific entry criteria beyond age requirements (participants must be at least 20 years old), this event is open to a diverse range of athletes looking for an unforgettable adventure in the Scottish Highlands.
