HimalayanXtri stands as an unparalleled triathlon experience, offering athletes a breathtaking journey through some of the world's most awe-inspiring landscapes. The race begins with a 3.4km swim in a sub-tropical lake situated at 800 meters above sea level, where participants can enjoy swimming amidst the reflections of towering peaks from the Annapurna range. The bike leg is no less extraordinary, covering an arduous 165 kilometers through the Himalayas with nearly 3,800 meters of elevation gain. The course culminates at its highest point at 1,740 meters above sea level, providing panoramic views that are both humbling and exhilarating. The trail run segment is a true highlight, taking athletes on an ascent through lush forests before ascending into the clouds to reach breathtaking vistas near 4,000 meters. This challenging terrain offers close-up encounters with iconic peaks such as Mt Fishtail and the Annapurnas, culminating in a descent back down to the traditional homestay village of Lwang at approximately 1,400 meters above sea level. Participants have access to road bike rentals if needed, and local support is available for those requiring assistance. Race organizers also offer car hire services for race day logistics as well as additional tours or trekking opportunities in the area. As part of the XTRI World Tour Long-Distance Races, HimalayanXtri awards four slots to NORSEMAN and the XTRI World Championship—two each for men and women based on overall finish positions. Every participant receives 200 X-Points upon completion, providing a significant advantage in securing entry into prestigious events like NORSEMAN, Swissman, Celtman, and ICON. HimalayanXtri is more than just a race; it's an adventure through one of the world’s most captivating natural settings, challenging athletes to push their limits while immersing themselves in breathtaking beauty.

About Pokhara
Learn more about the host city, Pokhara.
Pokhara is the second largest city in Nepal with about 520,000 people in 2021. It is the starting point for most of the treks in the Annapurna area. It is a very popular location with most people staying around the beautiful Fewa Lake. Dozens of hotels and restaurants are sprouting like mushrooms everywhere, and today it is much easier to find modern amenities not common to other locations in Nepal, but Pokhara is losing its small town charm and the lakeside now feels more like Khao San Road.
