Cycle into two days of exhilarating mountain biking at our unique grassroots festival! Day one kicks off with an enduro mashup, featuring three or four stages that challenge riders through varied terrain. The day is packed with camaraderie and fun as competitors tackle each stage from a central starting point amidst the upbeat atmosphere of tunes and cheering fans in the race village. After the racing concludes, participants can unwind at the campsite where trick competitions and games await to entertain both racers and spectators alike. For those looking for more action on day two, prepare yourself for an adrenaline-packed downhill (DH) event that eschews traditional constraints with no uplifts required – simply ride up however you like using your e-bike or get towed by a buddy. All bikes are welcome in this inclusive environment; the track is designed to be gravity-focused, ensuring it’s not just about speed but also skill. Each run counts towards your final standings until 2:30 PM when racers with the best times will have their moment of glory racing down as the fastest riders of the day. Non-competitive cyclists are welcome too; trails not used for competition remain open to casual riders throughout the weekend, providing ample opportunity to explore and enjoy the scenic routes. Our designated campsite at the base of the hill offers direct access to riding areas with parking available from Friday night onwards, ensuring a seamless experience whether you’re racing or just enjoying the festivities. The event is geared towards cyclists aged 12 years and older, though those under 14 must be accompanied by an adult guardian. All participants are required to have a valid Cycling Ireland license (no one-day licenses for minors), with guardians present at registration to sign necessary forms. Safety is paramount: all riders, especially juniors under 18, must wear full-face helmets and spinal protection as per Cycling Ireland regulations. Join us this August Bank Holiday weekend for an unforgettable mountain biking experience that combines competition, camaraderie, and community spirit! Don’t miss out on the chance to ride alongside some of Ireland’s most passionate cyclists while enjoying a range of activities designed to cater to all levels of enthusiasm.
