Husky Trail Fest

About the Event

The Husky Trail Fest is an exciting trail-running experience designed for runners at all levels. Whether you're taking on your first ultra marathon or simply looking to push yourself with a longer distance run, this festival offers something unique and challenging.
Located near the Trussville Youth Football Field in Alabama, participants will embark on repeated 5k loops that closely follow the original Husky Challenge route. The event welcomes runners for various distances: the grueling 50k race starts at 10:30 am, followed by a more manageable yet still challenging 25k starting at 1 pm and a mid-length 15k beginning at 2 pm. For those who prefer shorter runs or are new to trail running, there's also a scenic 5k option that kicks off at 4 pm.
Packet pickup begins early on race day, from 9:45 am onwards, ensuring runners have everything they need before the start time. A hard cut-off of 8 pm applies for all participants, so those planning to run into the evening should bring a headlamp or flashlight in case it gets dark during their run.
Aid stations are strategically placed along the course with two regular self-serve aid stops available throughout your journey. For multi-lap runners (50k and 25k), there's an additional option for setting up personal aid stations either at the start/finish parking lot or inside a cooler/storage box near one of the main aid stations.
Participants in all distances except the 5k will receive a dog tag upon registration, which is punched on each lap to keep track of your progress. This year also introduces a new twist with the addition of a 50k relay race where teams can compete by passing off a baton from one runner to another after completing their leg.
To commemorate this event and show support for the Trussville Historical Society, "One More Hill" t-shirts and running hats are available for purchase separately on both leading up to the day of the race. These items make perfect souvenirs or gifts for fellow runners who share your passion for trail-running adventures.
