Punta Parayas Night Acuatlón: A Moonlit Challenge on the Camargo Coast
Experience the thrill of triathlon under starry skies at the Punta Parayas Nocturnal Acuatlón, set to take place on Saturday, August 24th. This unique event follows the success of the XVI Triatlón Punta Parayas-Valle de Camargo and offers an evening adventure for athletes of all ages.
The race begins with a swim off the historic ramp at Punta Parayas into the artificial beach waters, covering a distance of 300 meters. Swimmers will transition to running on the sandy shores before hitting the bike path adjacent to the local airport for a challenging 1500-meter run through picturesque coastal scenery.
Participants can choose from several categories including Infantiles, Cadetes, Juveniles, Junior, Sub23, Vet 1, Vet 2, and Vet 3. The event is open to non-registered athletes who will receive a one-day license upon registration via Rockthesport.
The race kicks off at precisely 10:00 PM with the first swimmers diving into the water under the glow of full moonlight. Transition times vary, but expect the first runner to cross the finish line around 10:15 PM and the last by 10:35 PM. Awards will be presented shortly after midnight.
Safety is a top priority for this nocturnal event with strict measures in place such as mandatory white swim caps, lifeguard boats equipped for night navigation, and reflective markers to ensure visibility. The race adheres strictly to guidelines set forth by the Spanish Triathlon Federation.
