XVIII TRIATLÓN PUNTA PARAYAS- VALLE DE CAMARGO

About the Event

The XVIII Triatlón Punta Parayas, set to take place on August 29, 2026, offers athletes of all ages and skill levels an exciting challenge along the picturesque coastlines of Camargo. This event is not only a competitive race but also part of several prestigious circuits including the II Astur-Cántabro Circuit and serves as the Cantabrian School Championship for cadets and infants.
The day promises to be filled with thrilling races in various formats, from sprint distances to aqua-bike events. The main categories include Benjamines/alevines (non-competitive), Infantiles, Cadetes, Juveniles, Juniors, Sub23s, Vet 1, Vet 2, and Vet 3, alongside a special non-federated category for both sprint and supersprint distances.
The event kicks off with the Benjamines/alevines race at Parque Punta Parayas-Atilano Amigo, followed by the absolute non-federated sprint distance starting at 16:30. Federated athletes will take to the water shortly after at 18:00 for their sprint distances. The supersprint category for infants and cadets starts later in the evening around 19:30.
Participants can look forward to a unique experience with the addition of an II Acuatlón Nocturno Punta Parayas, adding excitement under the moonlight as athletes navigate through the coastal area near Maliaño Cantabria. The event is organized by CDE Triatlón Camargo in collaboration with Cantabria Triatlón and the Ayuntamiento de Camargo.
The race routes feature a mix of swimming in the artificial beach at Punta Parayas, cycling along scenic roads, and running through the charming landscapes around Avenida Juan Carlos I. The event is governed by the rules set forth by the Federación Española de Triatlón (FETRI), ensuring fair play for all competitors.
Competitors can also look forward to special awards including the Felix Javier Martinez Rubio Trophy awarded to the best Cantabrian athlete and the Atilano Amigo Award given to the top Camargues athlete. The event is open to athletes with disabilities as well, providing an inclusive environment where everyone can compete on equal footing.
Registration for this high-energy day of competition opens at 14:00, allowing participants ample time to collect their race numbers and prepare before their respective starts. With limited spots available in each category (up to 110 athletes per sprint distance), early registration is recommended to secure a spot.
In addition to the main events, there are special promotions for those interested in combining the triathlon with the nocturnal acuatlón event at discounted rates, making it an affordable and memorable experience. The XVIII Triatlón Punta Parayas offers something unique for every athlete looking to test their limits against a stunning backdrop of Cantabria's natural beauty.
