III Loiu 500 Trail

The Loiu 500 Trail, organized by the Town of Loiu and various local businesses, returns for its third edition on November 1st. This year’s race offers both walking and running categories over a challenging yet scenic course that spans 12 kilometers through the picturesque landscapes around Loiu.
Participants can expect varied terrain with significant elevation changes including climbs up to 290 meters in height and descents of nearly 340 meters, making for an engaging experience. The race features two distinct time limits: runners have a maximum duration of three hours and thirty minutes, while walkers are given four hours and thirty minutes.
Competitive racers will vie for top honors with the first ten men and women receiving prizes at the finish line. No cash awards are offered; instead, participants can look forward to various gifts upon crossing the finish line. To ensure smooth transitions during the race, all competitors must wear their official bibs complete with timing chips.
Registration is open through platforms such as www.rockthesport.com and www.uno.es until October 29th at midnight local time. Early bird discounts apply for those who sign up before August, making this an affordable event for runners of all levels. Each participant receives a race shirt, official bib number with chip timing, instant results updates on the Loiu website, and photos from the finish line.
In addition to these benefits, there are 100 free entries available exclusively for residents of Loiu who register in order through both platforms until October 29th. For those unable to attend the race day due to unforeseen circumstances, a waiting list is maintained to ensure no spots go unused.
On November 1st, participants can collect their bibs and timing chips at Gazteen Plaza from early morning onwards with collection points open well before the start time of 9:30 AM.
