Experience the raw beauty of Northeastern Oklahoma at the Illinois River Ramble, returning with an exciting Volume III! This event invites you through the picturesque backroads of Cherokee and Adair counties, offering three distinct routes to suit all skill levels. The 62-mile route presents a challenge with significant climbs and technical terrain, while the intermediate 30-mile course features fun ascents and descents that will test your endurance. For beginners or those looking for an easy entry into gravel riding, the 10-mile option is perfect. This event emphasizes it's more about exploration than competition—so come to enjoy the scenic journey rather than race against others. The landscape of this part of Oklahoma isn't known for its flatness; expect varied terrain and a rewarding ride through nature. After your adventure, gather at the finish line where you'll be treated to complimentary food and drinks from Downing Brewery. Stay until the very last rider crosses the finish line, celebrating together in camaraderie. Register by October 25, 2026, for a free event t-shirt! Keep an eye on updates as we get closer to the big day. Proceeds will support Tahlequah Trails Association and their mission to build mountain biking and hiking trails. This is your chance to contribute while enjoying the ride! The courses are not marked; bring a GPS device with turn-by-turn navigation for safety and orientation. Stay safe, follow local road rules, and wear an ANSI-certified helmet at all times. Be prepared for unexpected traffic on open public roads where vehicles have right of way. Pass carefully, avoid blind corners, and always notify others before passing. No headphones or texting while riding; pull over if you need to document your journey. Flashing lights are recommended for visibility in low-light conditions. Show respect by being courteous towards other riders, spectators, volunteers, the community, and vehicles on the road. Riders must be prepared for mechanical issues with tools like extra tubes, a hand pump or CO2 cartridges. Main aid stations will provide water, electrolytes, snacks, but you should carry additional nutrition to ensure your safety in unforeseen circumstances. In case of natural disasters or dangerous weather conditions, the event may be delayed, shortened, postponed, or canceled without refund. Always leave no trace and respect the course by staying on designated paths. All route maps are available via the Ride with GPS app, which integrates seamlessly with Garmin, Wahoo, Strava, and other devices. The adventure is part of your journey—study the map to navigate effectively. Listen carefully to event officials for specific directions or instructions during the ride. If you need to drop out, inform the nearest aid station or official immediately. Join us at the Illinois River Ramble Volume III and discover a new facet of gravel riding in Oklahoma!
